A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to non-existent addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from colleagues or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already disabled. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be received in a 3rd-party mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting
Configuring a catch-all e-mailbox will be pretty easy in case you have a Linux cloud hosting with our company. You can enable the feature through our powerful, albeit simple-to-work-with Email Manager tool, which is an essential part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll administer the shared hosting account itself. You’ll find all the mailboxes that you have created displayed in alphabetical order and next to each one there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know if a certain mailbox gets all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With a single click on the icon you can activate or deactivate the feature whenever you want. In case there’s activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter will not disable/replace anything automatically or without your permission.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The catch-all feature can be enabled without any difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be shown in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will see a mini symbol handily located right next to each one. With only a mouse click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option using the menu that will appear. In case any of the preconditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will inform you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
